Instagram Book Challenge: April Potter Challenge

Hey Everyone,

Sorry there weren't any posts for the last few days and thank you everyone for being very understanding. I was going to post three catch up posts today but have decided to just make double posts on Friday and Saturday this week. In the meantime, here is one catch up post that I was suppose to put up last Thursday. I've been meaning to do this challenge all month and so I'm glad I finally got a chance to do it today. So for the last few months, I have been participating in a lot of bookstagram challenges but there was one in particular that caught my eye in the middle of last month (April).

#Potterreadingchallenge is a monthly challenge that was created by Sally over at The.Booklovers.Guide on Instagram. The cool thing about this challenge is that it is all about Harry Potter, which is what I've been obsessed with for the couple months. Unfortunately, I only just discovered this challenge around the middle of April and felt it would be pointless to start from there. So I have decided to do a full blog post, completing all the questions and simply just answering them like a regular book tag.

There are 30 prompts and so let's get started!

1. Your House

Hufflepuff: As soon as I finished reading the books, I took the Pottermore Sorting Test as well as a few other sorting quizzes online and I got Hufflepuff as a result for all of them. I read the description and I must say that I fits me perfectly. (Photo: Hufflepuff crest from Pottermore)

2. Favourite Magical Creature

Phoenixes: I loved reading about Fawkes and the powers that a Phoenix has. It seems like they would be a loyal and helpful companion.

3. Favourite Quote

“But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” ~ Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban). (Photo: Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore in films 3 - 8.)

4. Favourite Muggle

Kings Cross Station Guard: This was a difficult question as I assume it means someone who isn't a wizards and therefore doesn't include those who were muggle born. I figured out of all the muggles in the series, The station guard would be my favourite, especially from the movies, purely because I found his presence quite amusing.

5. Favourite Book

Book 4 - Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire: This book was by far my favourite book in the series as so much happens in this book and the story seems quite mysterious until the very end. It was quite an intense read and so many things happened that I did not expect.

6. Favourite Moment From Book 1

Playing Wizard Chess: My favourite moment would have to be when Harry, Ron and Hermione had to play a giant version of wizard chess in order to pass through the the next test to get to the philosopher's stone. It was a great moment because, you really got to see Ron take control of a situation, considering he's not usually good at anything else. It definitely was a memorable moment for me from the first book.

7. Favourite Molly Weasley Moment

Battle with Bellatrix Lestrange: Like probably most people, my favourite moment of Molly Weasley's was when she was fighting with Bellatrix in the final battle. She showed how bad-ass she can be if you mess with her especially when she said "Not my daughter, you BITCH!" to Bellatrix when she was duelling with Ginny.

8. Book Ron VS Movie Ron

Movie Ron: I must say that I did prefer the movie Ron more than the book Ron. Not only because I like Rupert Grint but mainly because I found the movie version to be more tolerable. The book Ron got really annoying at times was really so immature but I found that even though the movie version of the character was still kinda annoying, he wasn't as bad as the books. (Photo: Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley in the films)

9. Show Us Your Books

This is my ever growing collection and now that I've finally read all the books, I am sure that I will be collecting more editions over the coming years.

10. Least Favourite Character

Professor Umbridge: Definitely the worst character in the whole series. She is just so evil and really becomes quite crazy. I'm glad she wasn't around for the whole series.

11. Favourite Part Of Hogwarts

The Room Of Requirement: I just love how the room could become anything you needed it to be. Throughout the series (especially towards the end) you get to see the room be used in different ways. I would love to just be able to go to this room and how it accommodate my needs.

12. Favourite Movie

Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban: This was definitely my favourite as it kind of shows a different element of the story as Voldemort is not really present in the story. The story was really interesting and I found that the book and the movie were what got me to like the series more. (Photo: The movie poster for the film)

13. Favourite Weasley

Fred & George Weasley: I feel like you can't really separate these two characters as they just need to go together. They were definitely great comic relief throughout the series but were also really kick-ass and tough when they needed to be. (Photo: James and Oliver Phelps as Fred and George Weasley in the films)

14. Your Quidditch Team

Gryffindor Team: Though I am a Hufflepuff, I would probably be supporting the Gryffindor team since they had a lot of good players. Also throughout the series you don't hear very much about the other teams besides Slytherin.

15. Least Favourite Male Character

Lucius Malfoy: Though I kind of felt sorry for him towards the very end, he was still really an awful person from the very beginning. I didn't even dislike Draco as much as I did Lucius. I'm sure there were worst male characters but he was the first to come to mind (Photo: Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy in the films)

16. Least Favourite Movie Character

Gilderoy Lockhart: A really annoying character who didn't seem to know how to do anything. How he got the job at Hogwarts, I wonder but I am glad that he wasn't in the series for very long. He got what he deserved in the end.

17. Favourite Hogwarts Teacher

Professor Mcgonagall: She is a pretty cool transfiguration teacher who was very loyal to the school and to Dumbledore. I loved how smart she is and how protective she is of the students. I loved how strict she could be but how she could also be really kind and reassuring to Harry. (Photo: Illustration of Professor Mcgonagall by Jim Kay)

18. Favourite Ship

Neville Longbottom & Luna Lovegood:  They seem for perfect for each other, especially towards the end of the series as they were both kind of treated differently by all the other students and they seemed to get along really well. I totally ship them together, it would be really cute.

19. Favourite Couple

Remus Lupin & Nymphadora Tonks: Though they are characters that appear around the middle of the series, their love for each other made me cry tears of joy. I really loved them together and how awesome they worked together. I don't know if many people choose them but they were definitely my favourite couple. (Photo: Fan Art - http://r-stormcrow.deviantart.com/art/Lupin-and-Tonks-189617395)

20. Favourite Hogwarts Student

Hermione Granger: I really like Hermione as a character despite the fact that she can be sometimes annoying. I love how she is really smart and is the person Ron and Harry turn to when they need help. She is my favourite student because I feel like I would of been friends with her in school even though she was pretty bossy, I can tell that she always meant well.

21. Funniest Quote

"How do you feel Georgie?" whispered Mrs.Weasley.
George's fingers groped for the side of his head."Saint-like," he murmured.
"What's wrong with him?" croaked Fred, looking terrified. "Is his mind affected?"
"Saint-like," repeated George, opening his eyes and looking up at his brother. "You see...I'm holy. Holey, Fred, geddit?"
Mrs.Weasley sobbed harder than ever. Colour flooded Fred's pale face.
"Pathetic," he told George. "Pathetic! With the whole world of ear-related humour before you, you go for holey?" ~ Fred & George Weasley in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (Photo: Screenshots from the movie)

22. Best Dumbledore Moment

He and Fawkes Escape Being Arrested: This moment shows how bad-ass Dumbledore is through this conversation:
Cornelius Fudge: "You will now be escorted back to the Ministry, where you will be formally charged, then sent to Azkaban to wait trial!"
"Ah" said Dumbledore gently, "yes. Yes, I thought we might hit that little snag."
"Snag?" said Fudge, his voice still vibrating with joy. "I see no snag Dumbledore!"
"Well," said Dumbledore apologetically, "I'm afraid I do."
"Oh really?"
"Well – it's just that you seem to be labouring under the delusion that I am going to – what is the phrase – 'Come quietly.' I am afraid I am not going to come quietly at all, Cornelius. I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course – but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing." ~ Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix (Photo: Screenshot from the movie)

23. Least Favourite Book

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix: Like most people I know, this would have to be my least favourite, purely because Harry becomes really annoying and very angsty. There are still a lot of great moments in the book but compared to the other books, I did like this one the least.

24. Favourite Magical Food

Fizzing Whizzbees: This was a hard one but I chose this candy because when I found out what they did, I actually wouldn't find some. I think any of the sweets they have in the wizarding world would be awesome to have.

25. Favourite Marauder

Remus Lupin: Out of the four marauders, he was definitely my favourite as he is seemed like the only one who didn't like pranking people when they were in school and would work on his studies. He is very smart and was also a great defence against the dark arts teacher.

26. Rita Skeeter Good Or Bad?

Bad: Why would anyone think she was good when she liked to twist the truth to create a more compelling story. I really didn't like her, she made everyone look bad just so people would read her articles. She was bad for sure. (Photo: Illustration from: https://au.pinterest.com/pin/441141725971730332/)

27. Gryffindor Pro's And Con's

Pros:
- Bravery
- Heroic
- Nice House colours
Cons:
- Arrogance
- Dangerous
- Trouble comes to those who seek it.

28. Best Weasley Twin Moment

Fireworks Moment: The time when the twins decide to leave Hogwarts, they definitely leave with a bang as they set off crazy fireworks around the school during the exams. I love how they also mainly did it to annoy Umbridge which I think everyone enjoyed. (Photo: Scene from the movie)

29. Dream Wizarding Job

Teacher: I don't know what subject I would be good at teaching but I think that working at Hogwarts would be both fun and a worthy experience. Though I wouldn't want to be a teacher in real life, I feel like being a wizard teacher would be so much more different and exciting.

30. Books Or Movies?

BOOKS: There is just so much more depth and detail in the books that are not in the movies. I think the movies are quite good but I would choose the books over them any day.

I had a lot of fun making this post and may do something like this again in the future. Let me know of any challenges or tags you would like to see me do and I might just have to do it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

~Louise
