Top 5 Wednesday: Best Suggested Books You Loved

Hey Everyone,

I have recently joined the Goodreads group called "Top 5 Wednesdays" (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday). This means that every Wednesday, I will be making a top 5 post based on the topic stated on the group page. This week's topic is the best books to have been suggested to me that I have loved. So I hope you like these kinds of posts and please check out the group's page and join in the fun. I've had so many great recommendations over the years but here are the ones I loved the most.

5. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I was recommended this book by an old friend of mine in high school. At the time it seemed like everyone was reading it and loving it. She recommended/lent it to me but I didn't have high hopes for it. To my surprise, I really loved it and became obsessed with the whole series and the movies. Even now when people make fun of it or say how bad it is, I just think about how much I still love it.

4. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I was recommended this book by a lot of people before I decided to finally pick it up (my sister, my best friend and a co-worker to name a few). Everyone seemed to be talking about this book when it came out and even more when the movie was announced and later released. I really just wanted to see the movie so I decided to read the book first and I must admit I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. The movie is such a good adaptation of it as well. This book really deserved all the positive buzz it got.

3. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

I was recommended this book by a close co-worker of mine. I just simply asked what book should I read next? and she told me to read this one. I had owned it for a couple of years and was in the mood for a good romance novel. This book definitely delivered that and I absolutely loved it. I knew nothing about this book going into it but I had heard great things about the author. I am so glad I followed my co-worker's recommendation as now I just want to read all of Colleen Hoover's work.

2. Anna And The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I was recommended this book by the same co-worker who suggested Maybe Someday to me (you can tell she knows me very well). Everyone knows I love romance novels but this one wasn't really on my radar. I was a bit skeptical because of the title of the book as I thought it might be over the top and cheesy (Which it kind of is). I was again really surprised how much I loved it. I fell in love with the characters and the setting. This companion book series, definitely does not disappoint. It just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover and in this case, it's title.

1. One Day by David Nicholls

I was recommended this book by both my best friend and my sister (although my sister just watched the movie). For months, my sister would keep telling me that I needed to read the book so that she can watch the movie with me. She had already seen it but said that I would like it. I told her I needed to read the book first. I mentioned it to my best friend and she said that she had read it and said it was really good and so I finally picked it up. I'm so glad I did because it is now one of my all time favourite books. I actually just wrote a full review of this book in yesterday's post which you can read at the following link:  http://louiseereads.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/review-tuesday-one-day-by-david-nicholls.html

So those are the Top 5 books that have been recommended to me. Can you tell I love contemporary novels?

Anyways, I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

~Louise
