Today's post is a tag that I saw a lot of booktubers doing in 2014. One video in particular that I really enjoyed watching was Kat's from Katytastic on Youtube. The tag connects two things that I love, Books and Taylor Swift and so I knew I had to do it. This tag was originally created by Sarah-Jane from The Book Life on Youtube, so please be sure to check out both Sarah-Jane's video as well as Kat's Video. Side note: I will be doing Kat's version as she added a couple of awesome questions.
Now let's get started!
(Pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.)
If I Stay By Gayle Forman: This was a hard one but I ended up choosing this book purely because I did enjoy it but in the end it just wasn't very satisfying. I gave this book still a pretty decent rating but mainly based on other aspects of the book like the writing. I don't hate this book but it is one that I was loving but ended up not feeling great about.
(Pick a book with a RED cover.)
Terms & Conditions By Robert Glancy: I own quite a few red books but here is one I haven't heard anyone really talk about. I have yet to read it but it seems really interesting. Plus it has a very red cover indeed.
(Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.)
The Girl With The Silver Eyes By Willo Davis Roberts: This was a book that I was obsessed with from primary school and through high school. I remember buying it for only 50c at our school's library sale and read it in a day. This was pretty much the first book to really blow my mind and I will always remember it. Very nostalgic for sure!
(Pick a book with forbidden love.)
Noughts & Crosses: Graphic Novel By Malorie Blackman & John Aggs: This would definitely have to be one of the saddest stories I have ever read and it sure does contain a forbidden love. I don't want to go into detail about the couple as I don't want to spoil anything. I totally recommend this book to everyone to read. It was so eye opening for me and I really felt it.
(Pick a book with a bad character you couldn't help but love.)
Scott Pilgrim & The Infinite Sadness By Bryan Lee O'Malley: It took me way longer than it should of to come up with an answer to this one as I wasn't completely sure what it meant. Bad image or antagonist? I went with the antagonist route and picked Todd Ingram from the 3rd Scott Pilgrim series. If you've read the series you'll know why I might of chose him compared to the other villains in the series. I just found him hilarious but also extremely powerful.
(Pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.)
The Fault In Our Stars By John Green: I don't exactly remember who it was but I was told what happens at the end before reading the book. I think it may have been a mutual spoiling though as I originally didn't plan to read the book and so I was told what would happen not realising that I may actually pick it up someday. Other than this book, I haven't really been spoiled on anything.
(Pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.)
One Day By David Nicholls: Dexter Mayhew was the first person to come to mind for this question as you definitely see him change and grow over the course of the book. I was really amazing reading about what he was going through each year and seeing how his perspective on life was changing with him. I do end up loving who he becomes in the end.
(Pick your most anticipated book release.)
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child By J.K. Rowling: After finishing all the Harry Potter books this month as well as watching all the movies, I am eager for anything to do with the series. I am so excited with this book to come out (like most people) and I will definitely be reading it as soon as I get my hands on a copy. I'm sure this book is going to be massive when it is released in July.
(Pick your favourite book couple.)
A Walk To Remember By Nicholas Sparks: There are so many amazing couples to choose from but for me, my favourite will always be Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan from this book. There is just something about their relationship that I absolutely love and makes me want the connection they have. They will always be one of my favourites.
(Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.)
Alice's Adventures In Wonderland By Lewis Carroll: I don't normally lend out book and when I do I'm pretty cautious as I love all my books. Although in saying this, if I did have to choose a book I would least want to lend out it would have to be any of my beautiful editions of Alice's Adventure's In Wonderland. I have a lot of editions of this book and some I will admit cost quite a bit and so you can see why I wouldn't want to lend them out.
KAT'S BONUS QUESTIONS:
(Pick a book that made you cry a lot.)
Maybe Someday By Colleen Hoover: I cry a lot when I read but this book is definitely one that made me cry more than once. It's beautiful and sad and I absolutely loved every minute of it. There were probably other books that made me cry just as much but this was the first one to came to mind and the most recent one to make me sob like a baby.
(Pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters.)
Twilight By Stephenie Meyer: Like everyone, I read this book in 2008 and absolutely loved it and I went and watched the movie twice in the cinemas. Now I know there is so many haters of this book and series but I don't care because I love this series and will probably always love it. Gotta shake them haters off.
I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
