Today's post is all about fictional items. The topic for this week's top 5 subject is fictional items that readers want in real life. Especially in fantasy novels, particular objects get introduced that don't exist in the real world which most readers would love to have if they did exist. I don't read a lot of fantasy books but there is a couple of things I can think of that I would loved to have. I don't want to spoil too much about these items and so I'm just going to give a brief description. Here are my top 5 items.
5. Quick-Quotes Quill (From Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire By J.K Rowling)
This is a practical item which involves a quill that automatically writes things for you based on what you are saying out loud. A magical type of tape recorder. This would come in very handy for me as a blogger.
4. Magic Mushrooms & Notepad (From Seconds By Bryan Lee O'Malley)
An interesting item where the owner of these objects must write a mistake in the notepad and eat a mushroom in order to fix it. Would be useful in time of embarrassing moments or times of regret.
3. Key Blade (From Kingdom Hearts Series By Shiro Amano)
A Keyblade is a type of magical sword which is used to fight the heartless and other dark creatures. Honestly an item I would probably never use unless I really needed to, I really only want it because it is so cool.
2. Shrinking/Growing Food (From Alice's Adventures In Wonderland By Lewis Carroll)
A type of food that can come in the shape of cakes, mushrooms, drinks, etc that makes a person shrink or grow. A useful item in times of reaching into small or high places as well as being able to either hide or intimidate others.
1. Ruby/Silver Shoes (From The Wonderful Wizard Of OZ By L. Frank Baum)
More of a fashion item than for it's magical uses. It is a pair of shoes that are both the colour silver and ruby (depending on the light). In the book it is mentioned that they belonged to the wicked witches but no one knows the power. Some of the power gets revealed but overall they just seem like they would be beautiful shoes.
So that is my top 5 fictional items that I would love to own. Let me know what items you would choose and don't forget to check out the Top 5 Wednesday group on goodreads.
Hope you're all having a wonderful day!
~Louise
